About
Since 1935, Manhasset has been focused on one thing: building music stands that musicians can count on.
What started with inventor and musician Otto Lagervall’s push to fix the problems he saw in existing stands has grown into an employee-owned company still manufacturing in Yakima, Washington - continuing a long-standing commitment to dependable design, careful craftsmanship, and consistent quality.
Our Story (Since 1935)
Manhasset began in 1935 when inventor and musician Otto Lagervall
set out to solve the problems he saw in existing music stands.
Working from Manhasset, New York (where the company got its name),
he developed the original Manhasset® music stands using high-quality
materials and workmanship—a standard that still guides the company
today.
In the early 1940s, Otto moved the business to Yakima, Washington,
where Manhasset remains based.
Built on Quality - Then and Now
Over the years, Manhasset has expanded its line with new stands and accessories and made countless improvements to manufacturing processes.
Even as the product line has grown, the essential requirement has stayed the same: quality is the highest priority.
